Tidebound (异乡潮汐) is an HD-2D story RPG. Odder has just landed in a country he has never seen: a night at a transit airport, a dorm room, a registration desk, a phone that keeps buzzing. Then a threshold opens where there should be none, and he finds himself in the Tide Realm with a blade that cuts doors between two worlds.

This demo holds the first three chapters of the story and the first expedition.

What is in it

• Two worlds to walk. A real city of streets, classrooms, cafés and a station, and the Tide Realm beyond it: forest, ruined street, bay and a chain of gate-linked regions, all in HD-2D with pixel characters.
• A story told at walking pace. Phone messages, a journal, and three companions (Pandae, Wollf and Longyao) with bonds of their own.
• Tide spirits. Fifty forms to meet, raise and evolve, each with an illustrated card in the almanac.
• Board battles. Every tide spirit is a piece with a shape. Each round you fit pieces onto an attack board and onto the defence boards the enemy's blows will land on: what you cover is what you strike with, and what you block.
• A thirty-room expedition. The Sunken Workshop is a roguelike run with branching routes, relics, shops and campfires, and affixes you splice together yourself: a front half joined to a back half, then bound to one of your spirits for the run.
• English and 简体中文, switchable in Settings at any time.

Controls

Keyboard and mouse. WASD or arrow keys to move, E to interact and continue, Q to observe, J journal, H dialogue log, M map, Esc menu. In battle, drag pieces with the mouse and press R to rotate. Keys can be changed in Settings.

An original project. Theme song: “Where the Shoreline Ends”. The music was made with Suno. Generative AI tools were also used in writing code and in the English translation.

《异乡潮汐》是一款 HD-2D 剧情角色扮演游戏。奥特尔刚刚落地异国：深夜的中转机场、宿舍、报到处，还有响个不停的手机。然后，一道不该存在的门槛打开了——他误入潮界，手里多了一把能在两个世界之间切开门的界刃。

试玩版包含主线前三章和第一处远征。

• 两个世界：现实城市的街道、教室、咖啡厅与车站，以及门后的潮界——森林、废街、海湾和由潮门相连的一片片区域，HD-2D 场景配像素人物。
• 慢慢走的故事：手机消息、行程本，以及三位各有羁绊的同伴——潘达、沃尔夫、龙耀。
• 潮灵：五十种形态可以结识、培养、进化，图鉴里每只都有一张卡。
• 板图战斗：每只潮灵是一块有形状的拼块。每回合把它们拼进进攻板，也拼进敌人每一刀对应的防守板：盖住多少，就打出多少、挡下多少。
• 三十间的远征：沉没工坊是一趟肉鸽式远征——分岔路线、遗物、商店与营火，还有自己拼接的词条：前半接后半，再绑定给一只潮灵。
• 中文与英文，可在设置里随时切换。

键盘与鼠标操作：WASD 或方向键移动，E 互动／继续，Q 观察，J 行程，H 对话记录，M 地图，Esc 菜单；战斗中用鼠标拖动拼块，R 旋转。按键可在设置中修改。
